About Us

An international collaboration for global sustainability actions in our communities.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Open Pedagogy Fellowship was launched by Shinta Hernandez and Michael Mills at Montgomery College (Maryland, USA) in 2018, and has grown each year as additional institutions join the fellowship.  The current institutional partners and the organizational structure are available to see through the links provided.

In 2020, Montgomery College was recognized by the Open Education Global consortium (OE Global) for its innovative open pedagogy fellowship. Shinta and Michael were named winners in the Open Pedagogy category of the 2020 Open Education Awards for Excellence. OE Global is a global, non-profit organization supporting the development and use of open education around the world. More information about the award can be found at the Open Education Awards for Excellence website.
